from easykart.it press release
With the 2019 Easykart Grand Finals, the editions of the Easykart World Championships have reached the age of majority.
This year, more than 130 drivers on the track experienced a full immersion of numerous side events that accompanied their sporting achievements – the charity soccer match on Friday preceded the N-35 RS rental kart show by Birel ART, the Olympic-style award ceremony on Saturday evening including the proclamation of Adam Kowalski in 100 and Leon Brunner in 60 as winners of the Easykart Driver Talent 2019 (Kowalski and Brunner, along with Mattia Livraghi, winner of the Easykart Trophy 2019 in BMB Challenge, will be present at the 2019 Industry Trophy with Birel ART Racing).
The show continued with the ApEasy on Saturday evening and with on-track shows by KZ World Champion Marijn Kremers and runner-up Riccardo Longhi with rental go-karts and official Birel ART driver Cristian Bertuca aboard the KZ Junior, the new 2020 category branded Easykart.
Three days of qualifying, heats, and races have thus crowned the new Easykart World Champions: Andrea Calabrese (60 Easy), Adam Kowalski (100), Mattia Moretti (125), Domenico Palumbo (Senior), and Daniele Vezzelli (BMB Challenge).
60 Easykart: Andrea Calabrese completes a dominant season
The Shark picked up where he left off in the last round of the championship, dominating once again: the Italian champion claimed pole, victory in both heats, prefinal, and final. On the second step of the podium was Nicholas Tomasella, third was Karolina Vancikova.
100 Easy: Adam Kowalski repeats the Italian title
Adam Kowalski reaffirmed himself as the fastest in his category: after securing pole position, the Czech driver won another heat while finishing third in the prefinal. Second place went to Hayden Lupifieri (winner of one heat) and third to Simone Principalli, first in the Prefinal.
125 Easy: Mattia Moretti national and international champion. Domenico Palumbo wins in Senior.
Mattia Moretti clinched the title after twenty intense laps, dueling down to the hundredths with Francesco Ruga, an excellent second. Moretti led all weekend with pole position, victory in both heats and in the Prefinal, Jamil Pilotto climbed to the third step of the podium after a very solid final.
In Senior, Domenico Palumbo took home the most important success of the year after a weekend always at the top with pole, victory in one heat and in the prefinal. In second place was Rosolino Caralla, first in one heat, and third was Fabio Marangon.
BMB Challenge: the eighth king Daniele Vezzelli is international champion for the third time in his career.
Record within a record. Daniele Vezzelli was the eighth different winner out of eight finals held this year and triumphed in style: for Vezzelli, it’s the third world success in three different categories. A record achieved after a very balanced weekend at the top: pole and victory in the Prefinal were secured by Alessandro Salvarani while Riccardo Volpi and Alessandro Gnecchi won the two heats. Salvarani still finished in second place just under seven-tenths behind and Riccardo Volpi in third, trailing the second.
50 Training: also protagonists with tests, lottery, and award ceremony
In Siena, the baby drivers of Easytraining also took to the track with the usual program consisting of test sessions, simulations, and theoretical briefings conducted by Instructor Sabino de Castro.
The future stars of the upper classes experienced a weekend as protagonists with a lottery reserved for them with various prestigious prizes up for grabs such as the Birel ART suit, as well as with the award ceremony at the end of the event.
Thank you to all you drivers, team managers, engine builders, mechanics, parents, relatives, friends, track managers for this incredible season, with so many exciting races, emotions experienced, stories to remember, and moments spent together. Stay racing, stay tuned… and think Easy!
