SIENA CIRCUIT – INTERNATIONAL KARTING TRACK

The Siena Circuit is located in the immediate vicinity of the City of Siena and the “Siena-Bettolle” expressway, in Castelnuovo Berardenga Scalo (Siena).
The track was built in 2005 by Giorgio Torsellini and his son Fabio, after closing down the previous and famous Ampugnano facility as it was included in the area of the emerging Siena airport.

In Castelnuovo Berardenga, karting was soon able to rise again with the best expectations for the Siena area, immediately gaining a lot of support among young people not only at a local level but also nationally. The organization, drawing from previous experience, was able to develop in perfect harmony with the Sports Federation, implementing the most innovative technical and sporting regulatory requirements, immediately distinguishing itself in the national and international sports scene.

After giving new life to the premises of the old farm in the portion of land adjacent to the new track, a new Restaurant, Bar and Hotel were built to ensure the best hospitality. In 2008, the racing track was further renovated and expanded, bringing the development to the current 1,037 meters, with a width of 10 meters and a new paddock of 12,000 square meters.

Starting from 2008, with the construction of the new track, the Siena Circuit began to gain great interest from all sports enthusiasts who practice karting, expanding its appeal also at an international level, with the organization of increasingly prestigious events.

Today, the sporting and technical-financial value of the facility is important for the entire area, which can enjoy an excellent economic return due to the very strong influx of Italian and foreign enthusiasts, who in the most important events often count well over 1,000 sportspeople among drivers and their accompanying family members and technicians.

In recent years, the Siena Circuit has been the permanent venue for the ACI Karting Italian Championships and National Category Championships, in addition to having hosted an International Championship of the Easykart Brand Trophy and several times the prestigious international WSK event.

Among the excellent debuts, the Siena Circuit has also competitively “baptized” prominent figures, such as the son of two-time F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen. At an international level, many regular visitors to the Castelnuovo Berardenga facility come from all over Europe, especially from Eastern European countries and Russia.

Among the values of the Siena Circuit, its role in road education for young people is also important, which has often seen the presence of various school groups on the track for Safe Driving School courses with karts, as happened during the “Children’s Road” project carried out in collaboration with the Automobile Club Siena, the Municipality of Siena, the Municipal Police and the “A. Sclavo” Elementary School.

With the Security Driving Car initiative, carried out in collaboration with Gianluca Caldani, director and manager of 4Wheels, the Siena Circuit is at the forefront also in Safe Driving courses with cars and test drives. In recent years, the Siena Circuit has also been the venue for the selections and the National Final of ACI Rally Italia Talent with thousands of participants in the format that discovers future champions of motorsport in the rally sector.

The track has a type “A” National Homologation and a type “C” International Homologation.

The facility, which has artificial lighting also for night activities, is also used by car and motorcycle manufacturers for presentations and demonstrations.

Among the logistical and technical services of the facility, there are the Stewards’ Room with Race Control, Race Secretary, Briefing Room, Press Room, timekeepers and speaker tower, Start and Finish Service Park, Parc Fermé, Tire Park, Technical Inspection areas and a shop for the sale of clothing and accessories.
