MOJO TROPHY. INT. SIENA CIRCUIT

The picturesque Siena track hosted a highly successful edition of the Mojo Trophy. Despite the holiday atmosphere, 100 drivers, divided among Rotax, Rok, and KZ categories, answered the call. The day unfolded under the best conditions, and there was plenty of fun. After the summer break, Siena will return in September with the Autumn Trophy (September 15), followed by the Grand Final Easy (October 9)

In the KZN Under category, there was an interesting showdown between Giannini and Telleschi. The two came into close contact in the pre-final, with Telleschi, starting from pole, leading the race undisturbed, resisting the comeback of the feisty Giannini, who started from the back of the grid.
In the final, Giannini immediately took advantage of Telleschi’s uncertainty to pull away and win the race, also setting the best lap of the event.
Telleschi, after being overtaken by Calvanese at the start, managed to get the better of his rival within two laps, by which time Giannini had already pulled away.
Corsetti dominated the KZN Over category and after securing pole position, he led from start to finish. The only point of interest was provided by De Mezza, who did well to take the lead of the race, holding it for two laps. Corsetti proved unstoppable and crossed the finish line with a clear margin, ahead of De Mezza, who made a brief comeback after slipping to fourth position midway through the race.
The podium was completed by Bertilotti.
A penalty for a start infraction shuffled the cards in the pre-final of the KZ Amatori. Here, two protagonists, Martini and pole-sitter Sgheri, found themselves with ten-second penalties.
In the final, Sgheri and Martini put things back in order by taking the first two positions, with Sgheri winning and Martini setting the best lap. Arcangeli also made it to the podium.
In the Rotax Italia Challenge, the Mini Rotax category was dominated by Badoni, who took pole position and won both the pre-final and final. Behind the winner was Bottaro, the only one of the pursuers able to keep the gap under a second.
Completing the podium was Pons, who paid for a three-second penalty received in the pre-final for an irregular start.
The three classes of DD2, Gentleman and Over, raced together. Munaretto came out on top, also winning the pre-final.
Trolese and Del Vecchio had to settle for finishing in this order, behind the winner.
Corsini won the DD2 Gentlemen without much difficulty over Furlan.
The outcome of the DD2 Over was more uncertain, with Cretti managing to edge out Tosi by just a few thousandths.
The pair of Bertocco and Scarpetta always maintained this order in the Rotax Junior rankings. The two started the day in this order and finished it the same way, never swapping positions, with Bertocco leading and Scarpetta chasing.
The fight for third place was more hard-fought and entertaining, with Bruscino having to make his way through Giudice, Ivaldi, and Perinazzo.
The races (pre-final and final) of the Rotax Max were marked by uncertainty and overtaking.
In the pre-final, Galvanin and Bardas jumped to the lead, taking advantage of the penalty suffered by Marta Bussola and Limena’s stop.
In the final, Limena, who climbed from last to second, and Laghi, also author of a great race full of overtakes, ignited the enthusiasm and allowed Laghi to win.
In the heated battle for third place, Galvanin came out on top, beating Guerra, Chizzali, and Bussola, who held the best lap of the day (for her category).
The competition in the Mini Nazionale was particularly intense and saw Olivieri leading ahead of Silvaggi and Venturi in the early stages of the race.
After taking the lead, Silvaggi left Olivieri to battle with Venturi for second place. In the tussle between Venturi and Olivieri, it was the latter who came off worse, and towards the end, Sabatini and Antonelli also passed him.
The Entry Level confirmed itself as a category of absolute interest and always well-attended on the Siena track, where the mini drivers put on a show. Bagutti won, followed by the Asian driver Kingsley and Melis.

ROK CATEGORIES (text taken from the press release).
The final round of the Rok Centro, at the Siena International Circuit, was wide open and the 2019 champions emerged after races that were tense to the very end. Particularly in the Mini Rok, the title was awarded between two great Rokkers, Ianniello and Pacini.
Bicciolo already had the Rok Expert title in his pocket on the eve of the event and raced for honor, in view of the more challenging appointment in Adria with the Rok Cup Italia.
In the other categories, the winners were Mini rookie Pecoraro, the excellent Junior outsider Bellandi, and the reigning Senior champion, Zuccante. But who are the champions? Let’s discover their names.

MINI ROK. IANNIELLO IN A PHOTO FINISH
The pre-final smiled on Ianniello, who, from pole position, was marked by his championship rival, Pacini, who finished second.
In the final, the battle was all between the two title contenders, Pacini and Ianniello. The former came in as the leader, albeit with the disadvantage of having to discard a result, while Ianniello started the final round knowing he could collect all useful points, as he had already missed an event (useful as a discard).
The challenge between the two Rokkers developed with overtakes and counter-overtakes, with Pierozzi and Pecoraro following at a distance, only able to watch the evolutions of the two challengers.
Between an overtake and a blocking maneuver, Ianniello and Pacini went off track on the sixth lap. The contact between the two left the way clear for Pecoraro to take the win and handed second place to Pierozzi.
Ianniello, after managing to restart, returned to the lead of the race but was demoted to third place due to a displaced front fairing. Despite the 5-second penalty, Ianniello climbed onto the third step of the podium and claimed the 2019 Rok Centro title.
Pacini crossed the finish line in fifth, seeing the area title slip away by a margin of 21 points.
Pecoraro won the first race of his still brief career and put on the crown of 2019 Rookie.

JUNIOR ROK. CHIURATO CONFIRMS THE PREDICTION, BUT WHAT A FIGHT!
The Junior Rok, on the eve of the race, left few chances for Fantozzi, but the Lazio Rokker didn’t lose heart and made life very difficult for the future champion Chiurato.
In the pre-final, it was Fantozzi who led the race, chased by Chiurato, until the two hooked up, leaving the way clear for Belmonte to win.
In the final, the duel between Fantozzi and Chiurato was repeated, with the two battling for the win along with Bellandi. In the leading trio, Fantozzi and Bellandi were particularly active, while Chiurato, in third, studied them, also thinking about the championship.
In the last two laps, the race was decided, with Fantozzi taking the lead and Bellandi immediately responding, going on to win deservedly. The new area champion, Chiurato, didn’t miss the opportunity to climb to second place, taking advantage of Fantozzi’s uncertainty during the battle with Bellandi.

SENIOR ROK. ZUCCANTE CONFIRMS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Zuccante swept away the pre-race tension by securing pole position and winning the pre-final decisively.
In the final, Zuccante took the lead ahead of the other title contender, Mezzetti, followed by Ortenzi and Sisti.
Halfway through the final, Ortensi proved that last weekend’s accident at Adria was already a distant memory and, after overtaking Mezzetti, launched a pursuit of race leader Zuccante.
Ortensi’s attempt to claim his second seasonal victory was thwarted by Zuccante, who responded decisively, leaving his rival in second place.
With his third seasonal victory, Zuccante confirmed his area championship title, heading towards the Rok Cup Italia with soaring morale.
Mezzetti took third place on the podium, showing steady improvement throughout the championship, having only started racing in early 2019.
