The race ran regularly until 1:30 PM, when a hailstorm caught everyone by surprise and forced Race Control to pause temporarily.
Even with tough weather, there was no shortage of spectacular battles across the categories:
In the X30 MASTER, victory went to Monaci (KR/IAME), who also set the fastest lap in the final. Monaci beat Bambace (TBKART/IAME), who took second place on the podium, followed by Salvia (GOLD/IAME).
The X30 SENIOR was won by Russo (TONY/IAME), who dominated the 38 drivers in the race. Next came Vezzelli (PAROLIN/IAME) and Villa (TBKART/IAME), penalized 5s for front fairing.
The X30 JUNIOR saw Crew (KR/IAME) take the top step of the podium with the win, pulling more than 3 seconds clear of rival Bertuca (BIREL/IAME) in second. Third was Taddei (VEMME/IAME), who climbed onto the podium after a 7-place comeback.
The drivers in the X30MINI put on a fierce fight, with victory going to Monza’s Parolin (PAROLIN/IAME), who had already taken pole in qualifying and P1 on the grid for the final. Second, after a spectacular 10-place comeback, was Leopardi (PAROLIN/IAME). Bronze went to young Puppo (PAROLIN/IAME), completing the podium.
The battle for the 2019 Regional Championship treated us to incredible races with the National categories.
In KZN UNDER, Nuccioni (RIGHETTI/TM) won a spectacular race with an 8-place comeback, passing Massatani, who lost the podium due to a 5s penalty. Second was Zin (KR/IAME), who had earned pole in the prefinal. Third was Capponi’s Intrepid (INPTREPID/TM).
Tempesti (CRG/TM) dominated the weekend in KZN OVER, crowning it with the win in the final. Gagliardi (FORMULAK/TM) followed 3 seconds behind. De Mezza (CROC/TM) took third place
The CLUB once again saw a great sporting duel between Sgheri (CRG/TM) and Strovegli (CRG/TM). The latter snatched pole from Sgheri, who then finished second, and took the win. In third was Pallucca (MARANELLO/TM), followed by Bottin (ECOKART/TM).
The young drivers in the 60 MINI battled it out in the rain. The race was won by Olivieri (EVOKART/TM), followed by Larini (PAROLIN/TM) and Bucciarelli (EVOKART/TM) in second and third, respectively.
Sala (TK/LKE), Coletto (PAROLIN/LKE), and Zaccaria (ITALCORSE/LKE) filled the three steps of the ENTRY LEVEL podium. They were followed by the youngsters Morello, Sulpizio, Montoneri, Lilli, Bertellini, and Koci.
The Siena Circuit will see you on May 26 for the Spring Trophy, featuring the ROK Cup Italy categories and round 6 of the Tuscany–Umbria–Lazio Regional Championship, ahead of the second round of the Italian ACI KARTING Championship.
