After the season’s start, the Tuscany and Umbria Regional Championship gains momentum with the third round held on the weekend of July 9 with the 9th Pacini Trophy at the Siena Circuit, where a good number of drivers showed up, especially in the gearbox categories.
In total, about 130 drivers participated in this event, with 33 drivers also competing in the fourth round of the Rok Cup Central Area, while 94 drivers raced in the Regional Championship in the national categories KZ2, KZ3, KZ4, 60 Mini, Entry Level.
In KZ2, after Danilo Albanese’s pole position on Tony Kart, it was Marco Pastacaldi on Maranello-Tm who dominated both the Pre-final and Final. In the final race, Pastacaldi won ahead of Albanese, while Luigi Del Vecchio secured third place ahead of Alessio Baldi on Intrepid-Tm.
Particularly good turnout in KZ3, with 28 drivers in Under, 20 in Over, and 10 in Junior.
In KZ3 Under, Luigi Di Lorenzo dominated on CRG-Tm, fastest from qualifying and then winning both Pre-final and Final. Alessio Zanotti on Maranello-Tm finished second, followed by Gionata De Mezza on Tony Kart-Vortex. Among the retirements was Francesca Cifola on Maranello-Tm, who had been very fast in practice with the second-best time, retiring on the first lap.
The KZ3 Over final was won by Brescia’s Andrea Tonoli on Maranello-Tm, with a good lead over Paolo Beltramini (Tony Kart-Dea) and Sirio Tonarelli (Tony Kart-Vortex). Among the competitors was former European champion Roberto Profico on Sodi-Tm, who finished sixth. Claudio Tempesti (CRG-Tm) had taken pole position in qualifying, while Paolo Beltramini won the Pre-final ahead of Tonoli and Profico.
In KZ3 Junior, Mattia Giannini on Maranello-Tm won the Final and set the best time in qualifying, while Fabrizio Del Brutto (CRG-Tm) had won the Pre-final with Giannini in second. In the Final, Francesco Temperini (Sodi-Tm) and Roberto Cesari (Maranello-Tm) finished behind Giannini.
In KZ4, Simone Sgheri on CRG-Iame prevailed, having already won the first round of the Regional Championship, after Mauro Moretti (Tony Kart-Tm) had set the best time in practice and Federico Martini (Intrepid-Tm) had won the Pre-final. Sgheri, climbing from fourth place, won the final ahead of Roberto Arcangeli (CKR-Tm) and Martini.
In 60 Mini, Lorenzo Ciarrocchi (Evokart-Tm) won ahead of Alessandro Pacini (Tony Kart-Lke) and Alessandro Antonelli (Tony Kart-Tm), while Giacomo Pedrini (Tony Kart-Tm) had won the Pre-final.
In Entry Level, Francesco Lorandi on Tony Kart-Lke dominated from official practice through Pre-final and Final. In the Final, Lorandi finished ahead of teammate Thomas Baldassarri and Gino Rocchio, both also on Tony Kart-Lke.
In the Rok race where Senior and Junior competed together, Senior drivers took the victory with Luigi Beneventi finishing first, followed by Alessandro Pandolfi and Luca Leonardi, all on Tony Kart-Vortex. Jacopo Fossati (Tony Kart) won in Junior.
Mini Rok saw 23 drivers at the start. Filippo Croccolino, on CRG-Vortex, dominated official practice, Pre-final, and Final. Federico Rossi, also on CRG, finished second after overtaking Alessandro Lizio (Parolin) in the final laps.
